About
Kandice Law is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist with an M.A. in Art Therapy and Counseling from Drexel University. She has been working with children and adolescents for 10 years, starting in acute psychiatric care and in recent years providing intensive therapy for adolescents with eating disorders, mood disorders, trauma, and anxiety at a residential treatment facility in Westchester, NY. She is passionate about helping young people understand themselves in a meaningful way, in order to assist them with reaching their goals and discovering what makes their life worth living.
With her background in art therapy and trainings in alternative therapies, she often works with clients that struggle with traditional talk therapy, as well as those struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and trauma. She strives to find the most effective modality with each client, whether that be cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy skills, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction), or creative expression to craft a holistic treatment experience that meets clients where they are. Kandice has also been trained in perinatal mental health by PESI, and is a parent herself, equipping her to help other parents weather their transition into parenthood.
She works to provide a relaxed, creative, and nonjudgmental space to give clients the space to fully express themselves (verbally or non-verbally), and to discover their best path to move forward.
